Irvine, California | Full-time, on-site | 5 to 10 years experience

Work directly with the owner on projects from survey through construction, with real ownership of your designs. Open to licensed PEs and engineers working toward licensure.

Take civil projects from concept through construction documents, working side by side with the firm's owner on every job. Hands-on design work on a small team, with direct working access to a principal who holds more than 40 years of design and surveying experience.

• You work directly with the owner. A licensed PE and PLS reviews your work, answers your questions, and provides hands-on technical guidance on every project.
• You see the whole project. Field survey, design, plan check, and construction, plus a range of civil design work rather than one narrow production role.
• Room to grow into more. Licensed engineers can take on project responsibility and client contact quickly. Engineers not yet licensed get direct guidance toward the California PE.

Responsibilities

• Prepare grading, drainage, utility, paving, and site improvement plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Perform hydrology, hydraulics, earthwork, and storm drain calculations
• Prepare agency submittals and carry plan check through approval
• Coordinate with the survey department, architects, geotechnical engineers, and subconsultants
• Support construction administration: RFIs, submittals, field questions, as-builts

Required

• BS in Civil Engineering
• 5 to 10 years of civil design experience at a consulting firm
• California EIT or PE
• Able to independently produce complete civil plan sets in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience with California grading, drainage, and public works standards
• Able to work full-time in the Irvine office; authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

• California PE license
• Familiarity with surveying and mapping

Location

• In-office in Irvine. Daily access to the principal and the survey team is central to the role.
